Robert Schäfer, President of the jury


Robert Schäfer studied Landscape Architecture and Journalism, founded Topos in 1992 and was in charge of Garten+Landschaft since 1984. He currently deals with landscape issues and is supporting Landezine.

Xiaodi Zheng


Xiaodi Zheng is Assistant Professor at Tsinghua University in Beijing, School of Architecture. She studied Landscape Architecture at Tsinghua University and Harvard GSD. She joined Olin Partnership and SWA Group in the US before returning to China in 2009 where she received her Ph.D. (cum laude) in Landscape Architecture in 2014.


Adrian McGregor


Adrian McGregor is a Landscape Architect – Urbanist and CEO of McGregor Coxall, an environmentally focused urban design firm. After founding the company in Sydney in 1998 he has helped it grow into studios located in Sydney, Melbourne, Bristol and Shanghai. Nominated as one of Sydney’s 100 most creative people, he enjoys speaking and teaching about the future of cities. The firm has received more than 60 awards, including the prestigious European Topos International Landscape Architecture Practice of the Year presented in Reykjavík, Iceland. He won the Prime Minister of Australia’s Urban Design award and in 2006 founded Biocity Research to investigate resilience solutions for cities. Adrian is currently writing a book about post carbon cities.


Chris Reed


Chris Reed is Founding Director of Stoss. His innovative, hybridized approach to public space has been recognized internationally, and he has been invited to participate in competitions and installations in the United States, Canada, Europe, Israel, the Middle East, Taiwan, and China. Reed’s research interests include the impact of ecological sciences on design thinking, and city-making strategies informed by landscape systems and dynamics; he is co-editor of a recently published volume of research and drawing titled Projective Ecologies. Reed received a Master’s in Landscape Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania and an AB in Urban Studies from Harvard College. He is currently Associate Professor in Practice of Landscape Architecture at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design.


Peter Zöch


Peter Zöch studied Landscape Architecture in Vienna and Manchester, as well as Communication Management at Danube University Krems. From 2000 to 2015 he was an editor of Topos – The International Review of Landscape Architecture and Urban Design, and Garten + Landschaft, the German landscape architecture magazine. Since 2015 he has been Director Communications of the internationally renowned lighting design office Bartenbach and has also been working as freelance author and curator in the fields of landscape architecture, architecture and urban design.
