LILA – Landezine International Landscape Award recognises progressive and critically relevant practices in landscape architecture.
Established in 2016 by Zaš Brezar, founder of Landezine, and Robert Schäfer, independent journalist and founder of Topos magazine, LILA was conceived as an international platform for identifying and foregrounding exemplary landscape projects and practices from around the world. Since its inception, the award has assembled a substantial archive: all winners since 2016 are publicly accessible, alongside more than 2,000 projects submitted in previous editions.
Since the COVID period, the jury process has been structured as a hybrid format. Preliminary deliberations take place online, followed by two days of in-person jury sessions held in Ljubljana, where final discussions and decisions are concluded.
