The site is located in Dalian, Liaoning province, China, only 3 kilometers from the coast, and is surrounded by mountains, with beautiful natural scenery.We hope to integrate the advantages of the site, respect nature, and let the landscape truly integrate into the mountains and nature.We combine Chinese garden design techniques, the unique quietly elegant free and easy, casual into the design of the garden.
In terms of space, we follow the traditional Chinese garden layout and create four water courtyards.Going into each garden in turn has a different experience.In the first courtyard, we made a circular mirror water, reflecting the shape of the hills, to highlight the serenity of the garden, where people can meditate.In the second yard, we created a streamlined water feature, pruning the shrubs into delicate, full-bodied shapes, like streams in the mountains.Trees selected the graceful acacia, cluster trees with vigorous growth and diverse forms, for the insects to create a perfect habitat, at the same time, acacia trees in the garden water and soil conservation also plays an important role.Cleverly, in this space, we use the wall, moon door to form a frame.From a certain Angle, the plants, water, pavilions and distant mountains in the garden form a picture scroll, and people can see different beauty with each step.In the third courtyard, we made a pure lawn to highlight the outline of the building.The last yard is made into a mountain stream by introducing the mountain stream, and the pavilion in the distance is more Oriental in the maple forest.The whole park can play, rest, watch, interact, set multi – function as a whole.
Another feature of this project is the selection of materials. We choose a new material——UHPC Imitating stone brick. It can reconcile the color and texture of stone. Not only save costs, but also convenient the construction. After several rounds of deliberation, we finally customized two kinds of bricks (600*200* 50, 200 *200*100), which were used to make hollow landscape walls and corridors. The whole space is a combination of virtual and reality, It is transparent and relaxing. The color of the bricks is warm yellow, which is expected to make the space atmosphere of northern cities warmer. With the sun shines, the shadow of the trees is mottled, more highlighting the tranquility in the mountain. Weakening the role of lights in night scenes, light up the road only, maintain the natural state of the site. To Create a natural, relaxing, quietly atmosphere for the daily life in the mountains. The stones in the garden were also selected and polished，placed in the most suitable position. Finding the balance between human and nature in the mountains.
In a word, the whole design is based on the design techniques of new Chinese garden. We hope that people living here can forget the hustle and bustle of the city, and it is a very relaxing living space that close to nature.
