Croatia / Built in 2022 /
Infobip Campus reshapes the relationship between architecture and landscape in areas just on the periphery of the city by blending buildings and open spaces into a unified, self-sustaining environment. Commissioned by the rapidly growing IT unicorn Infobip, the project transforms an understructured, low-density zone on Zagreb’s southern edge, previously lacking defined public space or natural amenities, into a cultivated environment where work, life, and landscape coexist.
The architectural concept is based on vertical stacking, where offices are organized around a central atrium at the base, while a slender residential tower rises above. Crucially, the project’s landscape strategy unfolds on the transitional 4th floor, which features a restaurant, conference hall, and a terrace park. This elevated green plateau serves as both a social connector and an ecological buffer, linking permanent employees with temporary users and built interiors with the open sky. It systematically reflects the transition between different urban, programmatic, and social landscapes within the cross-section of the building.
At ground level, the “drive-in” office entrance acknowledges the suburban context, while the building as a whole functions as a spatial and technological organism that is complete unto itself. Structure and infrastructure are explicitly laid bare as part of both interior and exterior design, demonstrating a “functional and conceptual transparency.”
Infobip Campus demonstrates that peri-urban areas, often overlooked in urban discourse, can become fertile ground for integrated architectural and landscape experimentation. It sets a new regional benchmark for hybrid typologies where landscape is not an add-on, but a core organizational and experiential layer of the building itself.
