The concept for Opera front square was developed as a permanent greenery plan, inspired by the antithesis of the historical building – contrasting classical values with the contemporary. Greenery is a classic story in a contemporary interpretation. The main source of inspiration is the identity and values of the opera house, which invite you to rise above the mundane everyday and look up. To look into the Galaxies and Nebulae of the sky, to see the Stars that shine on the stage and within yourself.
We bring a piece of this infinity here, on earth, and plant it in front of the Opera house. The composition of the flower bed is made up of plants in violet and dark blue tones, planted in a dense group, symbolizing the space of the Galaxy. Then the airy structure of beige and pink tones can be read as the space of the Nebula, but the accents are created of clipped hemispherical shapes of evergreen yews and plants in golden-burgundy tones, associating with planets and stars. The greenery is designed taking into account the seasonal variability of plants and the dynamics of flowering, changing with the passage of the seasons and each time emphasizing different structures, including both annual plants and groups of perennials.
