The Colourful Peacock playground at K11 MUSEA is a unique merging of playful imagination, exciting play features and artistic vision. It sets a poetic tone at The Bohemian Garden on the rooftop terrace of the shopping center and aims to spark the imagination of both kids and adults.
K11 MUSEA is the impressive new cultural Shopping Center at the waterfront of Hong Kong. The vision is to reinvigorate the area with 100 creative powers and make K11 MUSEA the silicon valley of culture that will inspire people from all over the world. MONSTRUM is one of the 100 creatives powers that helped shape the project. The playground is beautifully placed on the roof terrace at 7th floor in a recreational bohemian garden. It includes among others a 7 meter tall peacock on a cage and a nesting hen.
The peacock is a great animal to express the character of K11 MUSEA. It reflects the majestic scope of the project with its elegant beauty while also symbolising vision, glory and refinement. The beautiful structure of wood and steel fits the overall expression of the cultural center, while also maintaining the unique MONSTRUM look. We care about the little details that shapes the end result of our playgrounds.
Why should the project win? Our playground of K11 MUSEA is not just a playground. We want it to be so much more. It is a combination of great design, enriching the public space, gathering people and kids and bringing joy to everyone, while inspiring kids to move and challenge their bodies and play with other kids.
It also fits an overall narrative and theme of the impressive K11 MUSEA while still making it fun for kids to play on. We want to contribute to creating a space and meeting point where people from everywhere like to hang out and feel comfortable. And of course it is all done with sustainable materials. We consider the playground to be a well integrated concept in its surrounding, designed to expand our idea of what a playground should be and look like – in a complex construction, done with much care for both the environment, for kids, for the love of great design, for creating great public spaces that gathers people – and for making people smile whether you are a kid or an adult.
