A new and green city center in central Vollsmose, invites young people to play and enjoy different activities which creates a clear contrast to the hard and raw surrounding concrete surfaces. With this project it has been essential to develop a vivid and green neighbourhood which is focusing on movement, diversity, peace of mind and beautiful green spaces. The main aim of the project is to draw the adjacent park into the area as a valuable element that provides a green and safe environment. Between the buildings, the edge of a new green urban area with a strong recreational character that invites to activities, play and breathing space at the area’s residents is softened. The new environment creates a sustainable meeting place where people want to stay and where new activities are created and displayed across of social diversity, ethnicity and age range. New greenery and trees are planted to create lee and furthermore it creates a beautiful setting for the new activities.
